Attend Your Appointment
Bring your campervan or motorhome fully set up as it would be used for camping.

Vehicle Inspection
Your inspector will carry out a thorough assessment of your vehicle’s self-containment systems to ensure they meet current legal requirements.

Certification
If your vehicle meets the standard, your Green Warrant Self-Containment Card will be issued and shipped to you. In some Auckland cases, certification can be provided immediately.

You’re Certified
You can then travel knowing your vehicle is compliant and properly certified.

Your vehicle must be fully setup including fresh water supply, wastewater system, toilet, ventilation, and rubbish bin.

The certification is valid for 4 years from the date of issue.

We can post it to a trusted address of a friend or accommodation/campground. If you are in Auckland you can pick it up from us. Reach out if this is not possible and we will get a work around to make it happen.

We operate across a few regions throughout New Zealand. If you don’t see your location listed, please get in touch to check availability in your area.

For certain locations where a local inspector is unavailable, or for customers in rural or remote areas, we also offer remote self-containment inspections via secure video call.

This option is ideal when:

  • You are located in a remote area
  • Transporting the vehicle is impractical
  • No local inspector is available

Most inspections take less than an hour.

Yes your toilet needs to be fixed. This can be with a bracket like Fix-A-Potty or a toilet that is designed to be fixed.

10 litre toilets are suitable for 2 people.

The toilet needs to be practically useable in the vehicle and accessible at all time. If you toilet is located under your bed you must be able to pull the mattresses back (modular mattresses) or stack them out of the way at night to be able to use the toilet.

To become a Self-Containment Officer, you must first read our blog articles and understand the requirements of the Self-Containment legislation. We have a manual to share with you and you’ll need to demonstrate your understanding of the law and inspection standards and commitment to the self containment regulations in New Zealand.
