A loose portable toilet does not meet the fixed-toilet requirement. Start with compatibility and your vehicle layout, then have the finished installation assessed.
What does “fixed toilet” mean?
The toilet must be permanently fixed to and usable within the vehicle. Its base must remain in place when human waste is emptied. Your installation also needs to meet the other relevant requirements, including ventilation.
Check PGDB’s current guidance and your inspector’s advice. Certification is an assessment of the complete vehicle, not a product label.
How Fix-a-Potty™ helps
I designed Fix-a-Potty™ to secure a compatible toilet in a compact campervan setup while allowing the waste section to be emptied. The bracket attaches to the vehicle and holds the compatible toilet base.
A bracket does not fit every toilet that has the same litre capacity. Compare the exact model, base shape and dimensions before buying. Follow the mounting instructions and check the finished setup with your inspector.
Choose the parts you need
- Already have a compatible toilet? Choose a bracket-only option.
- Need both? Browse toilet and bracket bundles.
- Need a sliding setup? Browse sliding kits and check the mounting, locking and usability in your layout.
Read the product’s inclusions carefully: bracket-only, bracket-and-runner and complete-toilet kits contain different components.
Measure, install and check
Measure the space available for use and waste-container removal, not just the storage footprint. Plan strong vehicle-specific supports and fixings, then follow the installation guide.
Once all six self-containment systems are complete, arrange an inspection. Contact us before buying if you are unsure about product compatibility.
